Hi to all Martial Arts Community Family members,

We are excited to announce that the Arnold Battle of Columbus World Games is establishing the qualifier circuit to promote the Arnold Battle of Columbus 2019 World Games.

The Arnold Battle of Columbus (ABOC) has succeeded for 42 years with integrity and reputation, it wouldn't be possible without all of your dedication and commitment.

I'd like to ask you again to take a positive leadership role for this very first ABOC qualifier on September 8th, 2018 here in Columbus.

Please review the attached poster above with information and register as soon as possible. The online registration form will be up very soon.

Please post this info to all available forums and encourage your students to register to participate, let it begin with your registration first.

Thank you all again for your continuous support.

Yours truly,

SGM Choi

10 Reasons Martial Arts Benefits Kids

Kenny Myers, a child care expert from Texas, has a great article at http://www.kenneymyers.com/blog/10-reasons-martial-arts-benefits-kids/. Kenny is not a martial arts instructor or school owner, just a child care expert, so his article focuses on children. However, in many respects I would go so far as to say the title should be "10 Reasons Martial Arts Benefits Everyone".

Without reposting his entire article, the 10 reasons he lists are:

  1. Fostering Self-Discipline
  2. Boosting Socialization Skills
  3. Encouraging Physical Activity
  4. Learning to Set and Achieve Goals
  5. Increased Self-Esteem
  6. Instilling a Sense of Respect
  7. Encouraging Non-Violent Conflict Resolution
  8. Improving Listening Skills
  9. Developing Teamwork Skills
  10. Improvement in Other Areas of Life
