Senior Class Marks the Year of the Black Dragon
This last Friday, January 7th, 2012, over 60 students including 20 black belts gathered at the OMAC Main School in Reynoldsburg for Senior Class. Class began with the traditional words of wisdom. Senior Grand Master Choi announced that 2012 was the Year of the Black Dragon, a year that happens every 60 years. The Year of the Black Dragon is known to bring wealth, happiness, and power to those who are dedicated and hard-working. The key is to apply the word of life and the words of wisdom everyday. This will lead to blessings of power and happiness.
Senior Class emphasized Moo Shim, Keuk Ki, and Jah Jae, including the combinations of those items. Jah Jae was combined with In Nae to show the connections among the OMAC Moogongryu elements. For instance, Ap Chagi (front snap kick) was combined by In Nae #2 (low block, middle punch). Yup Chagi (side kick) was combined with In Nae #3 (high block, high punch). In the future, further connections will be made with Dae Mahng Chun and Dae Mahng Ji, as well as other parts of the curriculum.
Two new words of life were stressed at class: Baek Jeol Bul Gul which means Indomitable Spirit and Chil Jeon Pal Gi which means Fall down Seven Times, Get up Eight. A new classroom term, Diro Dora, was introduced as well, meaning Turn Around.
